Network Diversions and Special Projects

Utility Line Relocations

Complex rerouting work for large-diameter water mains (D400 polyethylene, DN1000 steel) and sewer systems (D500 PVC, D800 corrugated pipe) to clear the construction sites.

What the work involves

Rerouting a utility line involves moving an existing pipe away from the site of a new development so that the land can be built upon. This is necessary for nearly any residential complex, warehouse, or road crossed by a water pipe, sewer line, or cable, and is usually the first task on the construction site—until it is completed, the building permit for the main project cannot be implemented.

We perform diversions on large-diameter water pipes—polyethylene up to D400 and steel up to DN1000—as well as on PVC sewer networks up to D500 and corrugated pipes up to D800. We have worked on active networks, where the pipeline must remain operational for the consumers connected to it until the switchover.

The risk of a diversion is not technical, but rather one of coordination: the work is carried out with the approval and under the supervision of the network operator, with a limited shutdown window—sometimes lasting only a few hours. We prepare the entire new section, test it, and only then perform the switchover, so that the power outage is as brief as possible.
